Julie Chen Moonves is the host of the 22nd season, premiering on CBS August 5, 2018. Chen Moonves served as moderator as well as one of the original hosts of The Talk. When she was finishing her last academic year at the university, she worked as an assistant for ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and served as the producer of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news channel). As a desk assistant, she worked to ABC News' Nightline program with Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel has remained one of her journalists heroes. Chen Moonves and Ted Koppel collaborated on Anatomy of a Riot - the primetime TV special that won the Columbia du-Pont award - which looked at the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
